It is pretty scary - especially for me sitting on an island I love at the very cusp of the invasion - Saba. Every day I'm out diving I expect to see one, but I just hope we can somehow keep them at bay, even for a little while. I think the most we can do is learn from this. Help by spreading the word, talking about it with divers, and maybe we can at least prevent these kinds of things from happening in the future. Happy diving! Kat Thanks for your comment Anders. That something so beautiful can cause such a problem. I remember when some Mediterranean species of goby came into the Baltic in ballast tanks and completely wiped out some local species. Not good for the system I can imagine. That a number as low as 9 individuals can start an invasion like this is scary... Is it even possible to do something about it? Well written.
