I would always recommend that you take your IDC at a location that you would like to work in, that way the Course Directors wil help you with finding employment. In your case where you are in the midwest, I might suggest that looking at PADI’s website under the employment section would be a good start. I would always also recommend that you contact the dive operation by email first, however don’t expect to many replies from this. I find that most people will get a job if they are in the area that they want to work in and then knocking on the doors. If you have contacted the dive center before hand then this is a way for them to connect your emails with personal contact now. This is a good time of year to be job hunting, so best of luck with it.
